London - The final seal of approval has been granted by the Government for the development of the UK' most advanced container port at London Gateway, which incorporates Europe's largest logistics park.

Container handling at Abu Dhabi ports rose by 34 per cent in 2007 compared to the previous year and the amount of goods coming into the emirate surged 17 per cent. Emirates Aluminium's (Emal) giant smelter in Abu Dhabi will generate US$2 billion (Dh7.34bn) every year once the plant begins full operations by the end of 2010, the company's chief said.
