Emirates airline will be welcoming more than 25 million visitors to the Heathrow in London with their latest branding effort on an approach roundabout to the airport. Farnborough - flydubai rounded off its first trip to the Farnborough Air Show with a package of orders that shows the airline's commitment to the environment, with orders totalling US$750 million for engines and winglets.
In the first part of the deal, flydubai signed with CFM International, a 50/50 JV between Snecma and GE, for 100 CFM56-7B engines to power the 50 Boeing 737-800/900s ordered on the first day of the air show.

 Air Arabia celebrates 10 million passenger mark

Air Arabia announced yesterday that it has flown more than 10 million passengers since its launch in October 2003. The carrier passed the mark at the end of June 2008.
In the first half of 2008, Air Arabia carried more than 1.6 million passengers, an increase of 33 per cent compared to 1.2 million passengers in the corresponding period last year. Farnborough - Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) confirmed its order with Airbus for the purchase of 100 airplanes valued at US$12.6 billion at average list prices. The announcement was made on the second day of the Farnborough International Air Show.

Farnborough - Etihad Airways today announced firm orders for 55 aircraft with manufacturer Airbus at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK. The list price for the order is approximately US$12 billion.

Farnborough - Etihad Airways announced yesterday firm orders for 45 Boeing aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK. The list price for the order is more than US$9 billion. Etihad Airways' Chairman HE Dr Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan and Etihad Chief Executive James Hogan announced the order.

 FlyDubai places US$4b order for 54 aircraft

Farnborough - FlyDubai, the new low-cost airline, has agreed to buy 54 of the next-generation Boeing 737-800s single-aisle passenger jets for US$4 billion it announced at the Farnborough Air show yesterday. The deal comprises a firm order for 50 aircraft from Boeing and a separate leasing agreement with Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management for a further four Boeing 737-800s.

Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, announced yesterday that it has opened its third fully dedicated sales shop in the Emirate of Sharjah.
