Rabat - President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has donated US$300 million to upcoming Moroccan Energy Fund to ease the effects of soaring energy prices on Morocco, according to Moroccan Energy Minister HE Amina Benkhadra.  Zayed Charity launches open heart surgery programme

The Zayed Charity Initiative for community development has launched the first-ever programme in the Middle East for endoscopy-based open heart surgery for poor cardiac patients. The Director General of Zayed Foundation, Salim Obaid Al-Dhahiri has held a meeting with visiting Sudanese delegation from the Ummul Fuqara Charity Organisation, led by the organisation's Executive Director, Abdul Aziz Khalid Ahmed Al Bashir. A contract for building the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed specialised medical complex in Casablanca, Morocco, was signed Wednesday between Abu Dhabi Municipality and French Jacob France Engineering Consultancy Group. UAE Ambassador, Isa Abdullah Al-Basha yesterday presented to the Secretary General of Al-Zubair Foundation, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Halim, a cheque of Dh1.322 million from the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA). The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has set a foundation stone to rehabilitate the Palestinian refugee camp, Al Nairab, near Aleppo city in Syria. Paris - United Arab Emirates has pledged US$250 million in reconstruction aid to Afghanistan.
