HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai issued a decision yesterday, regulating import of palm trees to the UAE. Article 1 of the decision empowers the Minister of Environment and Water to ban import of palm trees or plants from any country where cases of red palm weevil or any palm diseases are registered. Liwa - People wait for this time of the year to celebrate a member of their family - the date palm. The third festival of dates "Mezayna" ended on Saturday in Liwa, with winners being awarded for the best dates. The third festival for dates, 'Mezayna' will end tomorrow by choosing the best produce from the farmers.
