31st National Day Statement by Ajman Ruler

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member Ruler of Ajman described the establishment of the UAE federation as "a landmark in the Arab and Islamic history”. Speaking to the "Dir al Watan” magazine on the 31st anniversary of the UAE's National Day, Sheikh Humaid said that the celebration underlines the significance of the event, which is the springboard of our renaissance”, he said. He noted that the achievements realised by the UAE since the establishment of the federation could be attributed to the country's luck in having a good leadership.



"Praise be to Allah, who gave us a good and wise leadership and a hard working and sincere people, who rally round their leadership in unity,” he said, and congratulated President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin sultan Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, their Highnesses members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the emirates and the UAE people on the happy occasion.



"In the light of the rapid changes in the world, perhaps we have realised the importance and necessity of unity in the development and progress of any nation. We should have realised by now the significance of the repeated calls by Sheikh Zayed for Arab and Islamic unity and solidarity so as to face the challenges facing our nations,” he said.



"There is no doubt that unity is what brought us this far. It is unity which placed us at an enviable and respectable place among the countries of the world,” he added. He cited the country's numerous achievements, which he said were comprehensive, as they have affected all areas of national endeavour and development. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
