exhibitors from 28 countries, 112 international speakers and more than 150 conference delegates will participate in ENVIRONMENT 2007, the Middle East's premier exhibition and its largest international conference dedicated to the environment.

Held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, the event will take place at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre, January 28 - 31, 2007.

The ENVIRONMENT 2007 Exhibition is organized by Reed Exhibitions Middle East whereas the international conference focusing on Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources in Arid Regions is organized by Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).

Maysa Al Nuwais, Manager, Communication & Marketing, EAD said: "During the conference, we will discuss one of the greatest international issues of our time - how to face the current and future challenge of sustainable integrated energy development for arid regions.

The expertise and the commitment that the international speakers will bring with them will no doubt be an asset when facing this challenge. The potential in Asia and Africa for solar and wind power, geo-thermal and tidal energy is vast. By the end of the conference, we hope to have developed a clear vision for the international community to face the challenges of sustainable integrated energy development in arid regions." Some 112 speakers including 82 international experts and 30 ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) officials have been invited to the Conference. In addition, 150 international conference delegates have registered to attend.

On February 1st, 2007, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), will organise the "Arab Regional Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development: Strategies, Policies and Plans," to be held in cooperation with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, the CAMRE Technical Secretariat and UNEP/ROWA in Abu Dhabi.

Since its inception in 2001, the exhibition has emerged as a key platform to evaluate the latest products, services and technologies in the environmental field. Senior decision-makers from the municipalities, water and electricity companies, public works departments and environmental bodies will be among the more than 10,000 visitors expected to attend.
