Islamabad - 35 Pakistani dailies, weeklies and supplements have published quotations of the speech delivered by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the third summit of heads of state and government of OPEC member countries which was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 17 and 18 November 2007.Quotations of the speech by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai announcing the launch of "Dubai Cares" campaign were also published in the said papers.
The publications which are issued in English, Urdu and other Pakistani local languages and include Pakistan's press majors Dawn, The Nation, Observer and Daily Times, also highlighted the UAE achievements and humanitarian, social care and development projects funded by the UAE in areas hit by the earthquakes in 2005, Kashmir and other Pakistani provinces. They also published special reports on humanitarian projects implemented by UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA).
The Pakistani publications also highlighted the UAE-Pakistan bilateral relations. The number of projects set up in Pakistan by the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and later by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan amount to 250, according to the publications which said the UAE private and public investments in Pakistan amount to 20 US dollars. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
