In celebrating the UAE's 38th National Day, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has announced that it has surpassed country-wide targets for Emiratisation in the workforce and will reach 27.8% by the end of the year.

During a successful year, with continuing growth, a number of launches, and exciting future plans unveiled, the company has continued to identify and employ national talent making it a pivotal contributor in achieving the goals of the Abu Dhabi ‘Plan 2030'.

ADAC currently employs 354 Emiratis in roles across the company, and confirmed that new hires, by the end of 2009, will take this up to 395 or 27.8% of total headcount. This is up from 22.75% in 2008 and with ADAC committed to expanding its operations and facilities over the coming years, as passenger numbers increase, so too will its commitment to continue its proactive approach to UAE national employment.

Khalifa Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company, stated: "ADAC is firmly committed to its objective of bringing world-class aviation facilities to Abu Dhabi, and providing the capacity to meet the demands of the Emirate's vibrant and growing economy, in line with the Abu Dhabi ‘Plan 2030'".

He further said: "The Emiratisation strategy outlined in ‘Plan 2030' is an integral part of ADAC's airports' future development, as it is clearly designed to ensure the long-term success of the company and Emirati society as a whole." – Emirates News Agency, WAM
