All systems go in the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City's Fruits '&' Vegetables Market at Mina Zayed for the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al Fitre in the context of the civic body's keenness to serve all the needs of the public from fruits '&' vegetables in a safe '&' healthy environment, and enable shoppers to shop for extended periods that run up to the first hours of the following day.
Commenting on the move, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Director of Public Health at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, said that preparations for the reception of the holy month of Ramadan were part of the Municipality's strategy of providing modern services in a safe '&' healthy environment in cooperation with the strategic partners with a view to streamlining the movement in the Fruits '&' Vegetables Market.
"As the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City is keen on offering the public extended time to shop in the Fruits '&' Vegetables Market, it decided to introduce an extraordinary night shift system starting from 12.00 am (midnight) up to 06:00 am during the holy month of Ramadan. The step is taken by the Municipality in a bid to ease the pressure on shoppers, and offer vendors ample time to serve the growing public needs of fruits '&' vegetables during Ramadan and Eid al Fitre as well," he continued.
The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has held regular meetings with wholesalers in the Fruits '&' Vegetables Market to address their needs and remove all obstacles in order to ensure an uninterrupted supply and constant flow of fruits '&' vegetables to meet the needs of shoppers during Ramadan, Eid and afterwards. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
