Rabat - The Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) has renewed its support to the UAE's legitimate right of regaining its three islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa, occupied by Iran.

In the final communiqué at the end of its meeting yesterday, the committee urged Iran to respond positively to UAE's proposals of resolving the issue through direct negotiations or by referring it to the International court of Justice.

The communiqué called on all Arab parliaments and councils to raise the issue of UAE islands when in contact with Iran, or during regional and international parliamentary conferences.

The UAE delegation to the meeting included members Dr Abdul Rahim Abdul Latif Al Shaheen, member of the Federal national Council, Dr Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the FNC, and Ali Obaid Salem Al Yaleeli, a researcher at the FNC. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
