Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has strongly condemned the terrorist bombings which took place in Cairo earlier yesterday.

"This act of terror is an attempt to undermine security and stability in the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt," he added.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed the United Arab Emirates' solidarity with the government of Egypt. He also renewed UAE's stand by Egypt in fighting extremism and terrorism.

Sheikh Abdullah urged the countries that oppose terrorism to stand by Egyptian government in the face of this terrorist organisation and what it stands and calls for.

"The terrorist organisation's continued acts of terror and killing in Egypt require a swift action by all to eliminate these criminal acts which are carried out under the guise of Islam and which are rejected by Islam and Muslims." Sheikh Abdullah expressed heartfelt condolences to the government of Egypt and to the victim's families. He also wished speedy recovery to the people injured by the attacks. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
