H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the UAE Embassy in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

No one from the embassy staff was injured, but three others were wounded, when a car bomb exploded yesterday near the UAE Embassy compound which was badly damaged.

'The terrorist explosion requires collective, swift and decisive action to eradicate these criminal, terrorist practices which are also decried by the international community,' H.H. Sheikh Abdullah said in a statement yesterday.

He held the Libyan armed groups including the Dawn of Libya militia group and the Ansar Al Sharia (also known as Partisans of Islamic law - Sharia) accountable in criminal and legal terms for this terrorist act.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE's support for efforts aimed at backing the legitimately elected House of Representatives (HoR) and the government of Prime Minister Abdullah Al Thinni, and for helping the Libyan authorities to realise the aspirations of its people.

H.H. hoped for stability and prosperity as well as eradication of violence, force and use of weapons. He also expressed the hope that peace, security and stability would prevail for the future of Libya. - Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395272404672.html
