Cairo - H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, headed the UAE delegation at the Arab League Council which started yesterday under the chairmanship of Abdilrahman Abdilshakur Warsame, the Somali Minister of planning and international cooperation.
Some 19 Arab Foreign Ministers participated in the meetings in presence of secretary-general of the Arab League Amr Musa and the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs as an observer of the Arab League (AL).
The discussions will focus on reviewing the Arab League agenda for the upcoming summit that will be held in Libya and approving draft resolutions prepared by the permanent representatives concerning the Palestinian Issue.
The three Emirati Islands which are under the Iranian occupation, developing the Arab peace and Security Council, the Yemeni initiative to activate the Arab joint action and the Israeli aggressive actions in Jerusalem will be high on the agenda. The meeting will discuss also developing conditions in the Arab world. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
