BUDAPEST: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, yesterday met with Mihaly Varga, the Hungarian Minister of National Economy, in the country's capital, Budapest.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed existing relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them, as well as a number of issues of common interest. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international developments.

Speaking during the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah said that he hopes his visit will provide an opportunity to formulate a joint vision on how to strengthen and increase trade and deepen mutual investment cooperation in various sectors, as well as encourage the business community to engage in investment partnerships.

Sheikh Abdullah added that the UAE is interested in expanding its cooperation with central European countries, including Hungary, especially in the economic, trade and investment sectors.

The UAE Minister pointed out that with its logistical capabilities and strategic location, the UAE is a vital gateway between countries of Central Europe and the region's rich and promising markets.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian Minister of Economy stressed his country's keenness to strengthen its relations with the UAE, especially given the regional and international prestige it enjoys thanks to its wise policies, and for its trade and economic capabilities and experiences in sustainable development.

He pointed out that the economy is one of the important pillars for relations between countries, adding that his country's economic, trade and investment relations with the UAE are moving forward.

Mr. Varga said that Hungary is replete with investment opportunities in many vital sectors, which he said provides a great opportunity to enhance mutual cooperation between the two friendly countries. - Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395297749528.html
