The General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, GSEC, has issued a publication about the best institutional practices adopted by the Abu Dhabi Government to stress the importance of implementing and spreading the concepts of knowledge sharing, and learning from administrative and professional practices to drive institutional development, quality and excellence.

The move, which is in line with the Abu Dhabi Government's strategic objectives of providing excellent services and customer experiences, aims at encouraging the exchange of knowledge between government entities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and at highlighting the best international practices adopted by government entities. It also seeks to reinforce knowledge acquisition and sharing in order to improve government performance in all sectors.

Dr. Yasir Ahmed Al Naqbi, Director of the Office of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme, said, "The Abu Dhabi Government Best Institutional Practices publication aims at highlighting the experiences of government entities in Abu Dhabi, in order to improve government systems and services, and preserve the UAE's global standing with regards to institutional excellence. It confirms the Abu Dhabi government's commitment to improving institutional performance in various administrative fields, including customer service."

He noted that government entities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi have identified successful practices and experiments from around the world, and have implemented them in a way that fits the local work environment and customer needs. He explained that these practices have, subsequently, helped advance the development process in these entities, stressing that the collection and documentation of the practices adopted by 44 government entities in Abu Dhabi in one publication circulated to all entities reinforces and encourages the adoption of the culture of excellence.

The publication includes a list of best practices implemented by entities in various administrative fields, such as leadership, strategies, human resources, partnerships, increasing efficiency, improving services provided to the community, leveraging modern technologies to develop all aspects of work, and others. The Office of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme had analysed and chosen 163 practices from 44 government entities in Abu Dhabi that had shared their best practices. - Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395298581592.html
