Abu Dhabi Gas Development Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), announced yesterday that it has selected Honeywell (NYSE: HON) to help achieve safe and efficient production at the Shah Gas Development Project.
The Shah gas field is expected to significantly increase the Emirate's domestic gas supply. When it reaches full production capacity in 2014, the site is expected to process some 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day.

"Honeywell's reputation for successfully executing complex mega-projects was a significant factor in our selection. Its Integrated-Main Automation Contractor methodology and Operations Readiness approach using consultancy and workshops have been a perfect fit for us as we strive to seamlessly integrate our unique work processes with a fit-for purpose automation infrastructure".
Abu Dhabi Gas Development Co. Ltd. signed the Early Works Package and Main Automation Contractor the for Shah Gas Development Programme contracts. The Early Works Package was awarded on March 17th 2010 to Al Jaber Energy Services L.L.C. with a total value of over Dh1.1 billion with a construction duration of 16 months. The Main Automation Contractor (MAC) contract was signed with Honeywell.
The scope of work for the Early Works package includes the construction of a four lane dual carriageway asphalt road, connecting the plant entrance in the Shah area to the Liwa road, 27 million cubic meter of cut/fill/levelling works to prepare the site for process, production, sulphur recovery and utilities and off sites packages, preliminary preparation for approximately 40Km of main roads in and outside the plant, preparation of three well pads with the connecting roads, as well as the construction of a drill base, drill pipe lay-down yard and pioneer camp to accommodate 30 people from the company project management team and drilling team. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
