The Infrastructure and Environment Sub-Committee of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi discussed yesterday phases of implementing the CityGuard initiative, cornerstone in the Abu Dhabi Government's drive to engage with its customers across multiple channels in order to maximise their feedback and collaboration in the service delivery enhancement process.

The Abu Dhabi Government has rolled out the mobile application to allow the public to report incidents and submit complaints related to the Abu Dhabi Emirate directly to the government. The interactive smart application will be official launched once all arrangements and requirements were in place.

CityGuard is aimed at enhancing civic participation and collaboration between the public and the government in order to improve the Emirate at all levels.

Through CityGuard, customers can instantly report any incidents around the Emirate by taking a photo, movie or audio of the reported incident and use an embedded interactive map to spot the exact geographic location of the incident. They can report various types of incidents relating to the issues of public safety, consumer protection and environment, which need attention, investigation or corrective action from the government authorities.

The application automatically creates a case with the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre which promptly assigns the case to the appropriate government entity for resolution. From open to closed, the case can be monitored by the customer through CityGuard, online on www.abudhabi.ae or by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre on 800 555.

With its slogan "Your City, Your Community, Your App", CityGuard aims to increase civic participation and collaboration between the public and the government in order to improve the Emirate at all levels. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
