Drivers whose cars face mechanical malfunctions or meet with road accidents can call toll free number 999 for help, a senior official said on Sunday.
The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi on Sunday announced the official launch of its new Road Services Patrol that aims at providing support to drivers in cases of accidents or aiding them if their vehicles malfunction.
"Patrols are also equipped to assist broken down vehicles and offer services such as changing tyres, identifying flat battery, jumpstarting and topping up fuel and coolant if needed, to enable vehicles to reach the closest petrol station in the vicinity," said Faisal Ahmad Al Suwaidi, Director General of Main Roads for the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi. The service has been launched in coordination with Abu Dhabi Police. â€" Gulf News
