His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Board and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, said that Abu Dhabi was ready to host the seventh round of the F1 Powerboat World Championship under the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Friday and Saturday.

He said in a statement that the club since 1993, has been hosting this world event, which is also linked to the inception of the club, adding that the championship has contributed to earn the club heavy weight in the International Federation for the Marine Sports, particularly when Abu Dhabi was declared as a permanent headquarters for the organising committee of the championship in 2007 season.

Abu Dhabi won 9 times the award of the best host city- the last was previous year.

Sheikh Sultan noted that as the Emirate of Abu Dhabi excels many hosting cities in regard to the organisation of the event, it "puts us in continuous challenge to retain the title". – Emirates News Agency, WAM
