Traffic in Abu Dhabi is back to normal following heavy rains that lashed the city earlier this week and brought traffic to a standstill. Abu Dhabi Municipality said its emergency teams worked around-the-clock to clear rain-drenched roads of Abu Dhabi of the accumulated water that led to the gridlock.
Aided by around 150 tankers and hundreds of fixed and mobile pumps, the team members ensured that rain water is cleared from all areas of the city, specially the worst-hit roads in Khalidiya, Al Nahyan camp and the exit of the Sheikh Khalifa bridge, linking Abu Dhabi with Saadiyat Island. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
