Kalima, the translation project of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), published the Arabic translation of Roy Spencer's book "Climate Confusion".
In his book, Spencer argues that fears about global warming are vastly exaggerated and are driven by politics, not science. He says that there is a storm of hype and hysteria surrounding the topic of global warming and climate change, which has caused unnecessary government spending and inspired political movements and Hollywood movies.
Spencer also accuses the government of bias in its funding of environmental research.
The book seeks to counter reports saying global warming is on the rise and that it's the fault of mankind, arguing that the earth is far more resilient than it is made out to be.
The author testified before a Congress committee's examination of political interference with climate science.
Spencer earned a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Michigan in 1978 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1980 and 1982. He currently works at a senior scientist the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and he publicly promotes his ideas on intelligent design, on which he says that the theory of creation had a much better scientific basis than the theory of evolution.
