Star FM, a radio channel under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Media, yesterday announced that it will be participating in the International Radio Festival, held in Switzerland from 4th to 8th of September.

The station will broadcast its daily morning programme 'Sabaho' live from the festival, making Star FM the first Arab station to participate in this international event and broadcast in Arabic. The annual festival hosts 26 international radio stations from several countries, including Australia; China; Germany; India; Russia; Switzerland; United Kingdom; United States, and several others.

Presented by Rania Younis and Hassan Al Sheikh, 'Sabaho' will broadcast live from 7am to 12pm on Thursday, and 6pm to 8pm on Friday and Saturday during the festival, with Rania in Switzerland and Hassan in UAE, according to ADM's press release. Rania Younis has also been selected as the first Arab media presenter from the Middle East to join as a guest in this annual festival where she will participate in a press conference answering journalists' questions and shedding light on the Arab media scene.

Abdul Rahman Al Harthi, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Radio Network said the selection of Star FM as the first Arab radio channel to participate in the International Radio Festival reflects of the success the channel has attained through its innovative programmes and segments which represent the diverse cultures of the UAE." "Our participation in the festival allows us the opportunity to highlight the progress that Arab media has accomplished, particularly in the UAE. It also provides us with the ability to familiarise other participants at the festival with Abu Dhabi Media, and showcase the high quality content that it delivers across its various channels. This will play a role in connecting Abu Dhabi to the world and will contribute to the vast social and economic development taking place in the UAE." added Al Harthi.

During the period of the festival, the Swiss Tourism Authority has arranged a tour for a tour, in which the 'Sabaho' crew will visit the country's main landmarks and hold exclusive interviews with specialists from several industries, including tourism, transportation and watch making; as well as members of UNESCO. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
