Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, yesterday took a tour of the Mrajeeb Al Fhood, a fully serviced Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees.

Flanked by Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Dr. Mohammed Al Falahi and Director-General of Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation Mohammed Haji Al Khoury, Al Za'abi viewed the various health and educational services provided to the refugees. The delegation expressed their admiration at educational services offered to 1300 male and female students attending separate morning and evening classes.

Dr. Ibrahim Al Shamsi, Director of the medical centre, said the health facility receives up to 300 patients a day, adding that cases which need surgical intervention are referred to the Emirati -Jordanian Field Hospital.

The delegation also praised the efforts being made by the Emirates Red Crescent in helping the Syrian refugees in their ordeal. The ERC organises sports, cultural and recreational activities. It also conducts workshops on craftsmanship such as carpentry and ironsmith. - Emirates News Agency, WAM –
