The Mohammed bin Rashid Charity Foundation airlifted on Thursday humanitarian assistance to the flood-victims in the west of Sudan. Deputy Chairman of Board of Trustees Ibrahim Bu Malha said the C-130 had carried 10 tonnes of relief supplies including blankets, tents, clothes and insect killing sprayers. 'The Foundation will, in coordination with the Zubair Charity Foundation, distribute these assistance to affected citizens of Al Fashir town in the Northern Darfur,' he said. The town was hit on 3 August by flash floods which claimed eight lives and washed away houses, schools and clinics. 'This aid came in response to an appeal issued by government and non-government organisation,' he added. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
