The city of Al Ain is all decked out to greet visitors for the festival of Eid Al Fitr and the 32nd UAE National Day. Promising an enjoyable time, the authorities have lined up a host of activities starting today. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, inspected arrangements at Mubazzarah Park in the foothills of Hafeet Mountain on Monday night.

He was accompanied by Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Office of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region and Chairman of the Al Ain Economic Development and Tourism Promotion Authority (AAEDTPA), as well as Abdullah Hassan Hamarain, Undersecretary of the Municipality and Town Planning Department, Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Director General of the AAEDTPA, and other dignitaries.

AAEDTPA and Al Ain Municipality have joined hands to organise the events around the city. The events include cultural shows, games, picture and painting exhibitions, competitions, handicraft display and sales, a falcon show, theatrical and music band performances. A village embodying the traditional Bedouin living has also been set up at Mubazzarah Park that will highlight the culture, heritage, and living conditions of previous generations, as well as the challenges these generations faced. The AAEDTPA had been upgrading facilities in the city. Large numbers of tourists visit Al Ain every year from within the UAE and the GCC countries, he added. (The Gulf News)
