Cairo: Arab Parliament (AP) yesterday condemned massacres perpetrated by Syrian regime on the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp, south Damascus, as 'unwarrantable war crime' and breaches the international humanitarian law.

Ahmed Mohammed A Jarwan, AP President, called in a statement on Arab, regional and international parliaments, in particular, Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Arab League and the UN, to immediately intervene to stop attacks on the camp which wounded and killed scores of Palestinian refugees.

'Involvement of Palestinian refugee camps in the Syrian crisis demonstrates the Syrian regime complete failure to defuse the escalating crisis,' he noted.

Al Jarwan appealed to relevant regional and international organisations to take necessary measures to protect Palestinian refugees in Syria and provide them with urgent humanitarian assistance. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
