Al Ketbi keeps good work going

Abu Dhabi's Saif Al Ketbi continued with his fine run as the first four places were decided for the quarterfinals of the 22nd Sharp Cosmos UAE Open Snooker Championship. Al Ketbi beat Pakistan's Salah Khan, travelling companion of Mohammad Shehab, by the narrow margin of 4-2. The match never seemed to get off the ground at Dubai Snooker Club, yet it was Al Ketbi himself who remained grounded enough to play just the simple shots and easy options.

This approach awarded him with openings he otherwise would not have created, and it was this that made the difference between victory and defeat Al Ketbi appears to be on course to an expected renewal of his place in the UAE national team for next year. (The Gulf News)
