Al Kindi receives Japan-UAE Parliamentary Friendship League delegation

Saeed Mohammed Al Kindi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, received yesterday in Abu Dhabi at the FNC premises Takayoshi Nanikotchi, Member of Parliament and Secretary General of the Japan-UAE Parliamentary Friendship League, who is currently on a visit to the UAE with an accompanying delegation.



During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, FNC's Assistant Secretary General for Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs and Hajime Tsujimoto, Japanese Ambassador, the two sides discussed bilateral ties between the UAE and Japan and ways to enhance them, particularly in the areas of economy and trade.



Al Kindi reiterated the good reputation of Japanese goods on the UAE markets. He said relations between the two countries dated long years back and was based on the export of UAE oil to Japan and Japanese automobiles, electronics and other equipment to the UAE. He expressed the hope that the strong relations of economic partnership between the two countries would progress further.



For his side, Nanikotchi, who praised the UAE for its great economic and trade progress, said he had met with a number of UAE officials and had had a clear understanding of the UAE trade and investment market. He expressed the hope that the FNC will visit Japan to have first hand information about Japan's parliamentary experience and to boost bilateral ties in all fields. He cited the historic visit last April to Japan by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He said the visit had contributed immensely in boosting bilateral ties between the two countries. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
