RIYADH: The Command of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition for Yemen has called upon humanitarian agencies operating in Yemen to coordinate and provide the coordinates of their operations in Yemeni cities beforehand to avoid any collateral damage as the coalition continues to defend Yemen's legitimate government against the rebel Houthi militia assisted by the militia of ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Command stressed that maximum caution should be exercised in Taez city as the operations continue against the rebel Houthi militia who continues to deliberately and systematically target residential areas.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, the Command of the Arab Coalition said it is aware of a statement attributed to the spokesperson of the Secretary-General of the United Nations about a mobile health clinic run by Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) being hit in Taez city, Yemen, and immediately formed a fact-finding committee to determine whether the reports are true.

The Command said it initiated contact with the officials of Medecins Sans Frontieres to inquire, gather more information, investigate the truth and know the time, place and circumstances of the reported incident and vowed to publish the findings in the most transparent way possible for local and international public opinion and show a sense of responsibility in this regard.

The Command stressed that it is taking all possible procedures to ensure no collateral damage is sustained when targets are being hit.

The Arab Coalition Command said it welcomes and appreciates the efforts being exerted by Medecins Sans Frontier in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and stressed that it is important that humanitarian agencies should share the coordinates of their operations in Yemeni cities and keep away from the positions of the rebel Houthi militia to avoid sustaining any collateral damages. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -
