Yeosu, South Korea - Vicente Gonzales Loscertales, the Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), complimented the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2012, Yeosu, Korea, which is supervised and organised by the National Media Council.

After touring the Pavilion yesterday, Loscertales said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM): "the Pavilion successfully delivers Expo's main theme "Living Ocean and Coast" through the displays and interactive screens available in its five areas." The BIE's Secretary General expressed his particular admiration of the major film, "The Turtle", saying: "I was impressed by and greatly enjoyed this informative and entertaining film, which calls for saving marine turtles and highlights the UAE's ban on non-biodegradable plastic".

"The UAE is rich in history. It is a great civilised nation which is open to the world", he added, lauding the growth and development he has seen during his visit to the UAE last February.

The UAE Pavilion was also visited yesterday by Dr. Rolf Payet, the Minister of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Seychelles.

Dr. Payet said the story of saving the "Pearl", the turtle in the main film, conveys an effective and powerful message to stop using any material that is harmful for the marine environment and sea life. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
