British Minister for Climate Change and Environment Elliott Morley yesterday visited the Ras Al Khor wetland sanctuary. He toured the sanctuary's different facilities and praised the efforts being made by Dubai Municipality to maintain the sanctuary as a natural wildlife habitat and a tourist attraction. He noted that the sanctuary represents an enclave for wildlife in the middle of a bustling urban infrastructure which allows visitors to enjoy its wilderness through watching towers.

Morley discussed with the sanctuary officials means to develop wildlife reserves. Dubai Municipality has devised an effective management plan to preserve natural habitat and wildlife and to maintain biodiversity. Special bird hides were installed in different locations to offer bird watchers panoramic view of the sanctuary. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
