Art pieces made by students from over 50 schools across the UAE are being showcased at the ‘Live Your Dream' exhibition held to celebrate Eid al-Fitr and the back-to-school ‘Love Art' initiative of Deira City Centre.
The exhibition which will run until September 15 expresses all types of festivities and spreading happiness and joy.
Fuad Al Najjar, Senior Director, Asset Management, Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, said that the Love Art programme encourages budding artists to release their creativity, build confidence, and make their dreams a reality.
"This exhibition celebrates Eid al-Fitr and also builds up the back-to-school excitement for students.”
The exhibition will revolve around four different themes over a three-week period. ‘Celebrations', which is on now, will be followed by ‘Unity in Diversity' with 117 paintings conveying harmony in various aspects of nature and humanity.
This will be followed by ‘Colours', with 39 paintings that communicate a child's inner thoughts and innocence through the dynamic use of colour.
‘Vacation' will have 50 pieces based on the student's interpretation of what a vacation is.
Live Your Dream exhibition was conceptualised and
organised by Big Idea, a Dubai-based organisation working on bringing innovative ideas to
life and providing a platform
to outstanding talents across
the UAE.
"We are delighted to showcase the work of creative stars across schools in the UAE and appreciate Deira City Centre's support for this initiative,” said Reena Banerjee, founder and director of Big Idea.
Banerjee added that the student exhibitors are from among the 2,200 who had earlier participated in the annual Big Idea Wizkid. Students from KG1 to Grade 13 expressed their creativity in the form of poems, stories and paintings based on the theme for each category. The paintings on display are a collection from this initiative.”
She said the whole idea is to showcase creativity across school students in the UAE to art lovers and to provide a platform to these young talents.
"We are extremely delighted that Deira City Centre came forward along with Emax to support the exhibition.”
This exhibition will now be made an annual one with the support of Emax.
"Eid is the best time to inaugurate this exhibition as one of the themes, ‘Celebration'” Banerjee said. – Khaleej Times
