The UAE Central Bank has announced that it will be issuing, with effect from Monday, 29 October 2012, a commemorative Dirham on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the first export shipment of oil from Umm Al Shaif - Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Bank said in a press release today that the 6.4 gm Dirham will have a diameter of 24 mm with alloy containing 75% of copper and 25% of nickel.
The face of the Dirham will remain unchanged while the back depicts the logo of the occasion.
The said commemorative Dirham will be put in circulation through the apex bank branches. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
