Christian-Muslim Dialogue must continue, Patriarchal Vicar General in Jordan tells UAE Ambassador

Amman: Latin Patriarchal Vicar General in Jordan, Bishop Maroun Lahham stressed that the Christian-Muslim dialogue in the region is as old as the faiths and should never stop.

The Vicar was speaking while paying a visit to the UAE mission in Amman. UAE Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Abdullah Nasser Sultan Al Ameri received the Bishop in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary at the embassy Ahmed Mohamed Al Tenaiji.

The Patriarch spoke during the meeting, about the importance of peaceful religious coexistence, unity, renunciation of violence and narrow-mindedness, and of respect for freedom of faith to establish peace all around the world.

Patriarch wished that the UAE will remain a model of religious coexistence and an oasis of security, stability and prosperity under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

The ambassador hailed the remarkable coexistence in Jordan between the followers of Islam and Christianity and their mutual love and respect. He also wished that the church in Jordan will uphold its mission in this regard. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
