The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Chairman Dr Hamdan bin Mussalam, has received church delegation headed by Ishaq Al Anba Bishoy, pastor of Al Anba Antonio cathedral church in Abu Dhabi. The delegation greeted Hamdan on Eid Al Fitr.

The visit is in line with the religious tolerance atmosphere enjoyed by the communities in the UAE. The delegation delivered the greetings of the church on Eid Al Fitr on behalf of Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark.

Hamdan thanked Ishaq for the greetings, citing the religious tolerance enjoyed by the communities under wise UAE leadership.

The exchange of visits between the general authority and the heads of the churches "boosts religious tolerance in the country and gets wide praise from the international, humanitarian and religious organisations". – Emirates News Agency, WAM
