The UAE and Egypt maintain historic, deep-rooted ties which will never be affected, in any way, by casual or fabricated problems, a spokesperson of Egypt political 'Wafd' Party has affirmed.

Dr. Abdullah Al Maghazi lauded a pardon granted by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to more than 100 Egyptian prisoners along with settling their financial obligations.

Dr. Maghazi said the gesture is not new to Sheikh Khalifa, a good successor to good predecessor, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who set a role model for Arab rulers in handling Arab woes wisely.

Speaking on the sideline of the Arab Media Forum, which concluded in Dubai yesterday, he said Dubai has become a leader in organising events that bring Arab and international delegates together under one roof to share new ideas and experiments. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
