Live performances and other attractions by international artistes will give Dubai residents and tourists the opportunity to enjoy a widest selection of cultural activities during the fourth edition of Eid in Dubai
 programme.

Laila Suhail, Chief Executive of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), said during a media conference on Tuesday that Eid in Dubai is the finale of all the DEPE Ramadan events.

She said that there are so many challenges next season but one of them is how to optimise the opportunity to make Dubai a festival destination.

Ibrahim Saleh, Festivals Coordinator General and Deputy CEO of DEPE, told Khaleej Times that except for the fireworks at Al Seef and Dubai Creek, a hallmark of Eid in Dubai every year, all other events are new to Dubai or the entire region. "We expect an increase in visitors, particularly from the GCC.” For the first time, he said, the Fire of Anatolia, world's renowned Turkish dance group, is set to perform for three days at the Sheikh Rashid Hall of Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre starting August 31.

The Fire of Anatolia, Eid in Dubai Concerts, Modhesh World Concert featuring "Arabs Got Talent” finalist and young artist Hala Al Turk1, five-day Shoppiesta at Meydan Hotel, Diyafat and Fuwallat Al Eid, and the spectacular Eid in Dubai fireworks will usher in the fourth Eid in Dubai to new heights this year.

"The highly-anticipated celebration will also feature famous Arabic singers. Shopping malls and retail outlets across Dubai are organising shopping discounts and offers as part of Eid in Dubai. The promotions will run until September 10,” Saleh said.

"There is a great deal of anticipation surrounding the planned events, and we are looking forward to hosting families from across the UAE and visitors from around the world for this year's festivities.”

For the first time ever, the retail and hospitality sectors will have the support of the official Dubai Calendar website as a tool for planning and promoting Eid activities.

"The site http://www.dubaicalendar.ae is a portal through which Dubai's government agencies, festival organisers, retailers and charity organisations can freely announce promotions, events and activities to residents and visitors. – Khaleej Times
