Curtain on IDEX2005 pulled down

The 7th International Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2005) Thursday afternoon concluded its activities on an upbeat note with UAE announcing deals worth about Dh3.5 billion taking the total of contracts it signed during the five-day event to Dh6.8 billion. More than 900 companies from some 50 countries showcased the latest defence equipment and technologies on over 25,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space.

Over 66 defence minister, chiefs of staff, high ranking officers and military experts attended the activities. A total of 30,000 visitors approximately thronged the exhibition venue in Abu Dhabi to have a first hand experience on latest weaponry on display as well as land and naval demonstrations from 14 countries. The event was held under the aegis of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan The 8th edition of IDEX will take place in 2007. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
