GITEX Technology Week opens its doors today as leading global companies prepare to launch new products and services to boost the Middle East's growing ICT market amid growing consumer confidence.
Under the 2011 theme of "Redefine the Future” GITEX will address the latest trends, opportunities and solutions most relevant to the
region's businesses. "In an ever-changing industry, GITEX consistently strives to enhance the experience for exhibitors and visitors alike and is committed to driving even more investment and creating more business opportunities in the Middle East technology market,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of the event.
"Dubai is the regional hub for the ICT industry and GITEX is the pivotal event for the local, regional and global technology companies based in the Middle East and beyond.” More than 130,000 visitors are expected through the doors of this year's GITEX, which runs until 13 October 2011 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, to experience brand new elements to the show, ensuring the very latest market trends are addressed through a combination of new products and expert insights.
GITEX will host over 3,500 exhibitors from 57 nations, including new country participants Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malta, Morocco and Palestine and new national pavilions including Bangladesh, Italy, Pakistan, Scotland and Spain.
