The Dubai International Holy Quran Award, or DIHQA, has released a book on President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of awarding His Highness the 'Islamic Personality of the Year' Award.

Entitled "Excerpts from the life of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates... The 'Islamic Personality of the Year", the biography provide details on Sheikh Khalifa's personality, political life and humanitarian initiatives he launched in the UAE, Arab world and beyond, according to Chairman of the organising committee of DIHQA Ibrahim Bu Malha.

He said one thousand copies of the book will be handed out at DIHQA's awarding ceremony on 20 August/Ramadan.

The preface of the book noted that the country was blessed by having a unique and wise leader who sincerely worked for its prosperity and progress and outlined the way to its bright political, humanitarian, urban, industrial and agricultural future.

The preface also noted that the younger son of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan always looked up to his father, admired his personality and held him up as a mentor.

The late leader, the book says, was interested in preparing his son to take the responsibility based on his personal traits and capabilities The book also says the building and development of the UAE were further advanced by the great achievements of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ... who always seeks to continue the process of development to the best interests of the people.

"My father was my mentor whom I follow and receive guidance," Sheikh Khalifa says in the book.

The book noted that Emiratis enjoyed the generosity of Sheikh Khalifa. Sheikh Khalifa, it noted, gave orders to build housing units in all the seven emirates of the country for nationals and to boost the process of development nationwide.

It also noted that Sheikh Khalifa launched humanitarian, educational, development and health initiatives in other countries including Egypt (the Sheikh Khalifa City) and Lebanon (restoring more than 115 schools following the Israeli aggression on Southern Lebanon, paying tuition fees for 400000 students, re-building of hospitals and fishing ports and providing power generators for 35 villages etc), Sri Lanka, Kenya, Pakistan, Vietnam as well as conflict zones such as Yemen, Libya and Afghanistan. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
