The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has announced details of a line-up of entertainment events at the heritage sites and three major shopping malls during the 32nd UAE National Day celebrations from December 2 to 5. The department has enhanced the appeal of the four-day festivities for both residents and visitors by including the Deira City Centre, Mercato and BurJuman malls as venues for the first time. A number of new activities have been included in the calendar of events this year to ensure a memorable experience for all. Fireworks will be held in Dubai every day at the Heritage Village Creekside at 8pm.

A total of 47 events are scheduled to be conducted each day at various heritage sites in Al Shindaga (Sheikh Saeed's House, Heritage and Diving Village, Al Ahmadiah School, and Dubai Museum), Hatta Heritage Village, Deira City Centre, BurJuman and Mercato. This year's celebrations will witness for the first time the honouring ceremony for UAE sportsmen. Announcing the calendar of events at a press conference held at Sheikh Saeed's House on Wednesday, Marwan bin Beyat, DTCM Manager Events, said: "We are hopeful of attracting a record number of visitors and tourists this time as well. "The whole idea is to reflect the enterprising nature and cultural diversity of Dubai and the progress achieved by the UAE. A lot of hard work and creative thinking has gone into making this year's celebrations refreshingly different." (The Gulf News)
