Delivery of F-16s to start from mid-04

The delivery of F-16 fighter aircraft to the UAE will start from mid-2004 in batches of five to six every month, said Major General Khalid bin Abdullah Al bu-Ainna, Chief of the UAE Armed Forces, to Gulf News on the sidelines of IDEX. "We are happy with the progress of the F-16 programme with the pilot training, the infrastructure, technical results and support received b. The bases are being built in the UAE, he said. The UAE signed a deal with Lockheed Martin I March 2000 for supply of 80 F-16 aircraft. (The Gulf News)
