Dhafra Festival sells Western Region as attractive tourist destination: Hamdan

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, attended the concluding day of the fourth season of Al Dhafra Festival which was organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the Western Region from December 16 - 25.

The event aims to put the Region on the world tourism map and stimulate the region's economy.

Sheikh Hamdan affirmed the firm desire and keenness of President H.H.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to revive the indigenous heritage and genuine associated folkloric activities.

The festival had struck resounding success and earned the UAE good reputation and commendation from local and international circles interesting in heritage.

He also referred to the vital role the UAE is playing as a melting pot for cultures and heritage of the world through hosting of heritage-revival events. He stressed the importance of the festival as promoter of the tourist attractions in the Western Region. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
