Dolphin Energy Limited (DEL) is a lead sponsor of the Environment & Energy 2003 exhibition, opening at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre (ADIEC) tomorrow. Dolphin Energy will host its own stand at the show, as part of its commitment to environmental awareness in the Gulf. CEO Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh will also deliver a keynote address to the associated conference, according to a press release from DEL issued yesterday.

The company's major energy initiative, the Dolphin Project, involves the production, processing and supply of substantial quantities of Qatari natural gas to the UAE, beginning in 2006. When the project is complete, more than 2 billion cubic feet a day of refined gas will be transported over 400 kilometres by undersea pipeline, across the southern Gulf.

Al Sayegh said: "Dolphin is committed to sound environmental management and policies that protect the environment and foster sustainable development and growth. "We have introduced management systems throughout Dolphin Energy that are strongly focused on health, safety and environment - we shall also be expecting our contractors to follow the highest standards of environmental safety and protection throughout their project work." Al Sayegh will deliver a keynote address to the Environment & Energy 2003 Conference on 'Implications of Energy Related Policies on the Environment'. He will be speaking on Monday, February 3 at 9 am in the ADIEC Conference Centre.

Al Sayegh will discuss how policies for sound environmental management and sustainable development have moved to the forefront of decision-making, and how they can make a real impact on governments, business and industry. The Environment & Energy Exhibition & Conference 2003, which is organised by the General Exhibitions Corporation, takes place from February 2 to 5, and is open between 10 am and 6 pm daily.

Dolphin Energy Limited Dolphin Energy Limited (DEL) was created in 1999 to develop substantial energy projects throughout the GCC. Its objective is to create long-term economic wealth and new business opportunities, far into the future. DEL's major strategic initiative, the Dolphin Project, involves the production and processing of natural gas from Qatar's North Field, and transportation of the dry gas by pipeline to the UAE, beginning in 2006. Dolphin Energy's first energy initiative comes on stream in 4th Quarter 2003, when DEL's natural gas pipeline from Al Ain to Fujairah is inaugurated. This pipeline will supply a new power and desalination plant on the UAE's East Coast - initially with natural gas from Oman, and subsequently with Dolphin gas from Qatar.
