Drydocks World, the well-established international maritime and marine services provider, has announced a Dh1 million donation as a contribution to the humanitarian initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which aims to provide clothing to one million children all around the globe.

"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has been always unrivalled in such humanitarian initiatives that reflect his benevolent and virtuous nature. We pay tribute to his Highness's genuine kindness and for choosing the Holy Month of Ramadan to spread a message of peace, giving and love to all the disadvantaged and needy children all over the world." said Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World, in a statement issued yesterday.

Buamim added that this initiative emphasises the keenness of our wise leaders, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to aid and lift the suffering of victims of disasters and calamities.

"Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's campaign reflects the deeply rooted values that have been established by the late father of independence, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and which were adopted by UAE leaders and people," he continued.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaroni, Head of Operations, UAE Red Crescent Society in Dubai confirmed that in only ten days, the campaign had come close to achieving its objectives, faster than expected, and that is mainly due to the full support and directions given by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. "Hands were put together and the Holy Month of Ramadan manifests its noble message of compassion with the less fortunate around the world," he said. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
