Dubai Airshow conquered global significance, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Suwaidan

Commander of the of the United Arab Emirates Air Force and Air Defence H.E Major General Mohammed Suwaidan Al-Qamzi has underlined the importance of the Dubai International Airshow 2009 for the aviation industry whether in UAE, the region or the world over.

He said in a statement to the daily bulletin issued by "The Shield" magazine that this year's Dubai Air Show, see the world's latest fighter jets and civilian aircraft which allows us to see and learn the latest developments in both civilian and military aerospace.

The convening of the Dubai Air Show 2009 in schedule time is the biggest proof of its success, he said and added that excellence and distinctiveness have made it as one of the most important aviation exhibitions in the world.

The exhibition occupied a privileged position among the international specialized exhibitions and is now classed among the top three aerospace exhibitions in the world.

In response to a question about the role of the exhibition in the service of the aviation market in the region, he said: "The magnitude of growth is enough to be indicative of a bright future for this special event especially that the aviation industry in the Middle East and most of the world is witnessing record growth rates prompted the concerned authorities to update and expand their fleets and airports to keep pace with this growth." He confirmed that the Dubai Air Show has become one of the best markets that allow decision-makers the opportunity to see the best produced by the world of a diversified aeropspace industries. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
