Dubai Courts are showcasing their unique achievements during their participation in the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition, which is being held from 8th-10th April at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Courts are highlighting a set of notable e-Projects, including ‘Al-Salfa' - an integrated remote case registration e-Service, ‘Sure' - a pro bono legal consultation programme, the e-Notary Public service, the Amicable Dispute Settlement Centre (civil and commercial), and the ‘Nebras' mobile app, along with many other services. The products being showcased by the Courts are aimed at every customers' experience and helping them to complete their dealings and applications with speed and accuracy.

Taresh Eid Al-Mansouri, Director of Dubai Courts, noted that the Courts' numerous e-Services came into existence under implementation of the directives of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed recommended the transformation of government services into smart services. This step will contribute to facilitating and accelerating the customers' transactions and dealings, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE globally.

Speaking on Dubai Courts' involvement at the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition, Al-Mansouri said that the Courts aims to provide an opportunity for those interested to cast their eyes over local, national or international experiences. The Courts' initiatives are centred around achieving the vision of the Courts, ‘Pioneering in Courts Work', as well as achieving one of the Courts' strategic objectives, which is to promote community confidence in the judicial system, its capabilities and potential.

"e-Transformation and smart services in Dubai Courts cover all judicial and administrative sectors. These services highlight the unique experiences of the partnership between the public and private sectors in the e-Systems development in the judicial sector. This can all be credited to our Interactive Department, who have had a head-start in the provision of such services in the Courts," Al-Mansouri added.

The first of its kind in the Middle East, ‘Al-Salfa' e-Service enables law firms and all litigants to register cases electronically, record every detail, upload identification papers, and send them to Dubai Courts online.

Another programme, ‘Sure', involves volunteer lawyers offering free legal consultations and advice to litigants on a wide variety of cases and lawsuits. Dubai Courts provides 950 pro bono legal advice hours for litigants via ‘Sure'. The initiative is implemented in conjunction with the Courts' strategic partners, the Dubai law firms.

The e-Notary public service, which is considered a revolution in the certification process over the Internet, includes 14 different types of certification that are provided by the Notary Public Department within the courts of Dubai. This step has been well received and roundly applauded for saving both time and effort. The service is available in both Arabic and English languages and takes only a matter of a few minutes to complete. The main benefits of the service are security and confidentiality, which is achieved by utilising special features such as water marking and bar-coding.

Among the services showcased at the exhibition was the ‘Nebras' mobile app, which comprises many services of interest to Dubai Courts litigants and customers. The services offered by this app include the ability to access case status, next session date, hall number through case number inquiry, case year and case type. In addition, the app provides an easy way to search the both UAE federal and Dubai local law, along with the latest news of Dubai Courts. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
