The Dubai Islamic Bank, DIB, has donated an amount of Dh500,000 in support of both the internal and external programmes of the UAE Red Crescent Society, RCS. Dh250,000 of the amount will be spent on the sponsoring of orphans inside the country, while the remaining amount will be spent on orphans outside the UAE. The gesture was announced during a visit to the RCS headquarters here in Abu Dhabi by a DIB delegation, which include Hussein Mohammed Salim Al Miza, Executive Director of the Commercial Department who is also the Head of the Bank's Zakat Fund Committee and Salim Mohammed Bal Ama, Director of the Bank's Abu Dhabi and Western Region branches. Al Miza said that the DIB had decided to set aside annually a specific amount of money from the Bank's Zakat Fund to support the activities of charity organisations in the country, which deals in the sponsoring of orphans.
