The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Director General, Khalid A bin Sulayem and the chairman of Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), Dr John C. Grech, discussed bilateral issues and ways and means to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and Malta in general and Dubai in particular.

During the meeting held at the DTCM Head Office, they exchanged views about cooperation between the two countries in different fields, especially tourism.

Bin Sulayem briefed the Maltese dignitary about the development projects under construction or planned, including Dubailand, The Palm, and Dubai Festival City. He also highlighted the role and initiatives of the DTCM in promoting Dubai in various parts of the world, stellar performances of different economic sectors, and cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Dr Grech, who headed the large delegation to Dubai, said Malta will participate, for the first time, in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) whose 2004 edition is scheduled to take place in May. This, he said, will help the Mediterranean country to enlarge the international profile and tap the lucrative Gulf markets. (The Khaleej Times)
