Dubai Police will launch 100 smart patrols in the first phase to monitor and track down vehicles, which violate the traffic laws on the Dubai roads and wanted by security authorities, Dubai Police Commander Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim has announced.
This came during a meeting with a group of Dubai police engineers to test the vehicles equipped with the new police security system requirements. The vehicles implement the patrol function with sound and image.
Lt. General Dhahi said the General Headquarters of Dubai Police has been striving since four years ago to transfer the latest technology to the police patrols, adding that it is planning to expand the system in future to include all the patrols to combat crime and detect tendencies that disturb public tranquillity and traffic system.
Dhahi said the new system will be introduced into the electronic system, which Dubai police are developing to pace with rapid developments in this field, adding that the system has been tested and adapted to the vision of the General Headquarters of Dubai to become more effective. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
